Fancy something a little bit different? Join us at the 8th Annual Queer West Film Festival where we’ve made the jump from our annual evening screening to a weekend film festival, with financial support from presenting sponsor TD Canada Trust. From shorts, documentaries and full length features, we aim to showcase the very best of Canadian and international queer cinema from both emerging and established directors, We aim not only to celebrate and entertain but to highlight the issues that continue to affect our community at home and around the world. Our festival have Premier exclusive films never seen in Canada. We’re proud to be the Greater Toronto Area second largest LGBTQ film festival.

18 letters went out Tuesday May 10th., to this years officially selected filmmakers (1 to 92 minutes) Some film digital download links are starting to arrive. There will be everything from Two Lost Outcasts to BDSM to Gay Dads to Butch Fems to A Fuck up Gay British Comedy film, to Gay Syrian Refugees to Lonely Love in the Ukraine…well don’t we want to give to many teasers away. All premier films, never seen in Canada. Congratulations to all the directors this year. We’re thrilled to be screening your films.

August 12-14, 2016 U of T – Innis Town Hall, 2 Sussex Avenue. Street Map Doors 6:30 pm Show 7 pm to 10 pm. Tickets $10 per evening and $25 for three day pass. Students with ID $5 per evening and weekend pass $15. 199 seats per evening, 4 wheelchair spaces. Tickets go an sale on or by July 4th online and Sun Milk Convenience Store. The theatre is fully wheelchair accessible. Festival Volunteers get free tickets, as do weekend volunteers. All monies made this year, go’s toward next years festival. We have never run a deficit.
 
We at the Queer West Centre for the Arts have consistently produced festivals for the LGBT community. In 2001 we launched Toronto Queer Arts Festival (Queer West Fest) In 2008 we launched the Queer West Film Festival. In 2012 we added the Smash Words Festival as part of the arts festival.
